About Laughing Giraffe Books

At Laughing Giraffe Books, we research and select high quality books for young children and bundle them in terrifically fun gift sets- wrapped and ready for gift giving! And just to make reading the books even more rewarding for children, we include a search-and-find game tied to the books to be completed for a prize.

With thousands of children's books on store shelves, we understand that choosing quality literature can be time consuming and difficult. Why do certain books become so popular with children, while others sit on the shelf? We believe there are good reasons why certain books engage children more than others, and that's why our expert team researches each and every book we recommend. We know the value we add is in the selections we offer.

And while we're very focused on the books, we're also dedicated to making reading extra fun for kids. A Letter From The Founder

As a special education teacher and reading specialist, I found over the years that if I could capture students' attention while reading, either through a magical story or through a silly character, that the experience would result in an enjoyable time filled with lots of questions, laughs, and learning, rather than a struggle.

The same experience was true at home when I read to my two children. I learned that the quality of the books I introduced at school and at home made the difference between success and failure in my sessions, and excitement and boredom for my children.

The challenge was there before me, and I was on a mission to make a difference. I hope that you enjoy our book selections and feel confident knowing that the books you've given are sure to be enjoyed by the children in your life.

About Alexandra Morrill

Alexandra has a B.A. from Cornell University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Virginia. Prior to founding Laughing Giraffe Books, she worked as a special education teacher and reading specialist.

Laughing Giraffe Books Founder Featured at Spring Open House to Support Local Charity

March 25, 2011 – Sherborn, Ma –Alexandra Morrill, founder of Laughing Giraffe Books, a provider of themed book bundles and book of the month gift collections for children, will be featured at the upcoming “Spring Open House,” April 7^th - 9^th sponsored by White on White and in collaboration with several area businesses to support local charity, A Place to Turn. While the event promises to offer a great shopping experience, featured local business owners have also prepared short, educational presentations for each of the three days. Alexandra’s featured presentations include:

11:00 AM - Thursday, April 7^th “Reading With Your Baby During the First Year”

A former teacher, Alexandra will discuss the benefits of reading certain books and what sets those books apart from others for reading to your baby during his first year of life.

11:00 AM - Friday, April 8^th “5 Simple Strategies For Getting Your Child to Read”

Alexandra will present five simple strategies for encouraging your child to read. She will also be able to answer questions about your own child and tailor those strategies for their gender and age level.
